Just saw Ripple's CTO David Schwartz denying he's a billionaire lol. Meanwhile back in 2018 when XRP was pumping, the other Ripple bosses were literally on those "richest people" lists. Brad Garlinghouse net worth hit close to $10 billion at the peak, and co-founder Larsen's was supposedly at $54 billion because he got like 9 billion XRP tokens. But Schwartz? Dude took the opposite route - went for 2% equity and salary instead of tokens. Forbes called him the "trillion-dollar man" but his actual net worth is way more modest. He's been saying it's somewhere under $170 million, and most of that is tied up in crypto anyway which is pretty volatile. Makes sense he'd want to keep it real about the numbers. Funny how different choices back then led to such different outcomes. XRP is pumping again lately though - hit that $1.47 range recently.
